Breeder List


See below for a list of Approved Breeders. To be an Approved Breeder, breeders must meet the current requirements:

  1. Be an SSCA Member and remain in good standing, adhering to all aspects of the SSCA Code of Ethics and Mission Statement
  2. Shall remain current providing all completed litter certificates back to SSCA in a timely manner 
  3. Submit to SSCA three (3) whole body photos of each breeding age Sila including each side and front view
  4. OFA or PennHIP Hips and Elbows
  5. All dogs are microchipped
  6. Safely handling puppies daily and socializing puppies with other dogs, animals, and people of appropriate ages.
  7. Ensuring that puppies are gradually and fully weaned before being placed. Puppies should not be fully weaned before 8 weeks old unless there are medical or behavioral reasons to do so. Ideally, puppies are placed when they are between 10-12 weeks of age.
  8. All puppies started on shot schedule and dewormed before being placed.

Breeders recognized as Gold Level Breeders also meet the following:

  1. Embark or Wisdom Panel DNA test all dogs prior to breeding, before one year of age, and submit links for GM2, DM, COI% and BREED results to SSCA to be kept on file
  2. Complete a Physical & Working Evaluation, including hock manipulation, on all dogs prior to breeding, but no sooner than age 18 months. 
  3. Submit any planned breedings to SSCA for calendar 
  4. Work on puppy development through a program such as Puppy Culture.
